timeline/ordering of different jobs

Hi there, We are renovating a house before moving in. Here are the jobs we are planning to do. Could anyone please advise us on the order in which we should do these? Also, should we be looking for different tradesmen for the different jobs (e.g., should we look for a floor fitter just for floor fitting or could we find one person for multiple jobs)? - remove carpet on 1/F and stairs - install new laminate flooring on 1/F and stairs - remove partition wall on 1/F landing - move or add wall sockets in 2 bedrooms - install built-in wardrobe in bedroom - replace G/F toilet door with a sliding door - move tv cable outlet - prepare wiring for wall lights - paint walls Many thanks in advance!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A good handy man could do all of this and the order is mostly down to you. The best thing to do would be to get all of the messy jobs done first. You don't want the walls painted and then holes and channels dug into the wall that's just been painted... Moving sockets etc can be messy if you want them channeled into the wall or you can have the cables surface mounted...

I think you should apply basic common sense. But the basic refurb schedule is. 1 demolition, strip out. 2 Carpentry first fix. 3 Electrical and plumbing first fix. 4 Plastering. 5 Carpentry and plumbing second fix. 6 decorating Inc tiling. 7 snagging then final floor coverings. It all sounds so simple, but then, the plumber doesn't turn up, the plasterer says one thing the painter another, you change your mind where you want the light, and the colour on the wall is different from the colour on the tin.
