New window in place of door

Thanks for the reply but the door cill is set back from the outside wall and that is where I want to put the new window. It's a sort of open porch

I didn't see your full question, but from this I would suggest taking out everything to the ground and then brick up or whatever to match the rest to height and then put your window in.
It might be worth putting a temporary sill in for your wind, a piece of straight timber or something to make sure you build to the exact height for the window.
Regardless of what is in the way, you mention a door sill, it will need to go and you should tie in to existing wall too.

I would, Measure height and width of new window,
remove old door and sill.
Then Brick up to the required height, leaving enough room for a new sill under the window.
