How should a Velux window look on the inside after plastering is done? Does it flare to maximise the light.

Yes most reveals to velux windows will flair out! To let more light in and most velux windows will be coming into the room at an angle of your roof so flaring the reveals out will also not make it look like a square boxes opening.

The reveal to the velux should be at least 45 degrees to enhance the light
