Gas Hob condemned in new built property

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

Hi, In the past week I have moved into a brand new property. On the day of the move we discovered the gas hob had not been connected at all. After a week of hassling the developer they finally managed to get a plumber to attend. Unfortunately he was unable to connect the hob as he discovered the hob has been installed incorrectly and does not comply with the installation guidelines set. I also spoke to the plumber and mentioned that I was having issues with the heating and hot water settings only to discover that the heating and water had been connected to the timer the wrong way around. I was just wondering if somebody could please help explain where I stand and who I can contact to discuss why the property has been provided with gas and electric safety certificates when clearly there are major issues? Thank you.

Hi there Honesty and experience* are key to delivering safe and reliable service Unfortunately some contractors push themselves to make the most out of the day This cause rushing and results in *neglecting good workmanship You're right, certificate shouldn't have been issued unless your appliances were checked for safe installation and safe operation Hope it helps
