Is it possible to sand/buff/polish/seal a rough concrete floor and turn it into something nicer?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.08 PM
We have a laminate laid on top of concrete and are keen to get rid of it. There is solid concrete underneat, but its not treated its pretty rough and horrid. Is it possible to improve it in anyway using acid, sealant etc... (I don't know) It's in the kitchen and it'd be nice to expose it and have polish it up somehow. Has anyone ever done this or know of a solution? Thanks, Cheryl

I did this for a while.......You will need a specialist firm in. They use a combination of scarifiers to flatten the roughness of the floor and then they use graded diamond segments starting from rough to finer ones. This technique basically reveals the aggregate , then polishes the floor with the finer diamond segments. Then the floor will need sealing and buffed afterwards to the concrete polished finish. Hope this helps :)
