Hi Buddy, when I was at college a couple of years back I started by asking family and friends if they needed any simple jobs doing such as skirting or laminate etc even did a bit of painting and decorating at my Aunties house and as time progressed on and i gained more experience i offered more jobs, only benefits i had was i was also full time employed but it was a confidence builder and found family recomended me to others and gained more and more work, i also set up a facebook page and put all my photos on there. Now i am a sole trader with my own clients. As for part time work just asking any local joiners if they need any help and you be suprised how helpful some will be.

If you drive you will get work. When you say part time though, if it's a few hours a day then you may struggle but if you can offer yourself for a couple days a week on an apprentice wage, muck in with the labouring side of it then I'm sure you will find something. There's no better way to learn than to actually do. Good luck
