What type of bolt/screw do I have?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.48 PM
I have a question about a screw/bolt on an outside, sort of bulk headlight. I want to undo the casing but it has an odd screw/bolt head. Normally screws have a cross or straightline indentation. This one has two small indentations. So imagine the straight type but it only has indentations at two edges. I wonder if anyone knows what type of bolt/screw this is and what sort of screwdriver or key I need to use on it to take the plastic casing off. Thanks very much in advance of any advice :-)

These are a type of security screw, sounds like snake eyes, if you Google snake eyes security bits you should find what you're looking for.
Best of luck, Rob

The key for these bolts would have come with the fitting when first purchased, you could perhaps pop to your local electrical wholesalers and see if they have an odd one laying about or failing that long nose pliers will undo said bolts , hope this helps
