cutting new hole for 50mm bath waste
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.48 PM
I am needing to cut a core for a new 50mm bath waste, through a brick and harl wall, I will be using a dry diamond core drill. I am unsure if I should cut from the outside in or inside out ( I would obviously have a lot more room to manoeuvre from outside), if cutting from outside should I break away a small patch of render first? I will have use of a scaffold platform so stability outside is not going to be an issue. Also, what is most appropriate to repair the render once I have positioned the waste pipe?

Mark waste pipe hole on the inside wall, get a 6mm masonry bit, long enough to go all the way through the wall and drill a pilot hole, then outside using the pilot hole as a reference point, core drill the hole from the outside in, if you are careful and don't break away the render around the hole to much, you can seal around with some clear or white silicon
