Adhesives / Silicon Sealants for UPVC Door Trims on plastered surface

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.27 PM

Hi there, We are thinking of replacing existing trims on our PVC door and window downstairs as existing ones are too short and white silicons start to develop some black moulds. We want to completely remove old silicon seals and short trims and then put in new larger trims and mould & damp resistant silicon seals. What sorts of adhesives / silicon sealants would you recommend to apply PVC trims on:- (1) a cold surface that has a wallpaper still intact, (2) a cold surface which has already been stripped to plaster, and (3) a cold surface which has been painted twice? Would mitre bond super glue and activators (not spray ones) do the job on all 3 possible surfaces? If not, what would you recommended to use for each surface type? Regards, Simon Cardiff
