Communal boiler. Low hot water pressure

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

Hi. I am a leaseholder of an ex local authority ground floor flat with a communal boiler. I mains cold water and a hot water tank in a cupboard. I do not have a boiler. The water pressure on the hot water is very low. I believe a neighbour has a megaflo water tank. I would like to do something to increase the water pressure for my shower. I am currently using an electric shower but keep having problems with it (the hot pipe is too close to the cold pipe so I have to run cold water from the tap first as the electric shower trips out due to the incoming water being hot if I don't do this) I would like to go onto mains and fit a walk in shower. Any ideas as to the feasibility of this?

Hallo Shreeta. Get rid of the water tank, install a combi if you have only one bathroom, or replace the vented cylinder with a megaflow, using the common source of heating. will solve pressure problems, fee cupboard were water tank is stored, reduce risks of water contamination (legionella). Please be aware, the shower may need to be replaced if is a power shower, not if is an electric shower, but some devices may need to be installed on the inlet. Tiziano
