Fit new PIR light into existing outdoor light circuit
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.48 PM
Hi - I have an existing switch that controls two outdoor lights (1x wall mounted and 1x standalone). Is it possible to replace the wall-mounted light with a PIR equipped light, such that when it detects motion, it will turn both the PIR and standalone lights on, and turns both off after a period of inactivity? Thanks!

Hi there, if the stand alone light is currently wired to the wall light then this should be easy enough. The replacement wall light with PIR should have a switch live terminal which becomes live when the PIR is activated and allows secondary lights to be turned on at the same time. This should be a quick job for an electrician.
Best of luck, Rob
