Is this wall load bearing?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.47 PM
Hi, Is this wall load bearing? Can I remove it without introducing any support? About the wall: It's a 3.8m long red brick wall internal wall, only 1 brick deep. In a 1904 two bedroom terrace house. The joists on the ground floor run perpendicular to the wall, but the joists above the wall, and those in the loft run parallel to the wall, as do the roof rafters. The loft space is completely open, with no truss rafters or knee walls. The wall directly above it, on the 1st floor is a stud wall.
