How to secure a long electric wire to be used for a future kitchen island socket?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.27 PM
Currently the wire comes out of the middle of the flooring, but the wire is flexing a lot and I'm concerned it will be damaged at the root rendering it useless. Can anyone advise whether a 'socket' of some sort should be attached to it at the floor level to avoid so much flexing and thereby damaging the wire itself? Thanks

Having no idea if it is connected or even working or where/how it is fed from I would suggest calling an electrician in to advise & carry out the work.

Its hard to picture exactly what you mean. Have you considered installing some type of mechanical protection to stop the cable from getting damaged? This could be in the form of conduit or trunking.
