How long can I leave before painting a newly plastered ceiling?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.27 PM

Is there any time limit before painting a newly plastered ceiling, i.e. Can I paint after say six weeks after the newly plastered ceiling?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

the plaster can be painted after a day or two,Ideally you need to apply "crown covermatt "as this allows the walls to breathe allowing any trapped moisture to dry out,If you used a vinyl matt this would seal the plaster and trap any moisture so avoid! or apply a mist coat of contract matt ,wait a week and then finish in matt or silk emulsion

Hello When the whole of the area turns a light pink colour it's ready to paint. Mist coat it first in a contract matt. I find Armstead contract matt is the best but that's my personal choice.
