Can we put one log burner between two chimneys?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

We have two chimney breasts one behind the other (One in lounge, one in kitchen). Rather that putting log burners in each room, would we be able to knock through both chimneys and add a deep, double sided log burner? I guess we would use one flue and block the other one somehow.... what are the pros and cons.... I only see double sided log burners in single chimneys and never seen 2 chimney breasts. Any help/ advise would be great!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there As long as there is a liner and a registered plate leading to the burner which has been fitted and signed off by a HETAS registered fitter then there should be no issue.

agreed with the first answer, but you would need to seal the other flue off as well (the redundant one).
