Timber Windows Refurbish or Buy new Ones ?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.47 PM
Hi Experts, I have 2 small wood casement windows in the 2 bedrooms and and 1 whole Victorian bay window (consisting of 3 timber sash windows). All of them are single glazed. They are in need of an update, which might require replacing the bottom wood panels of the windows as a small part of them is rotten. My question is; is it more economical to refurbish and repaint all these windows ? or would the price be similar to buy and fit new ones ? I'm looking to minimise the cost as I would look to rent the flat since I will be moving into my girlfriend's place. Many thanks

hi the best would be to put new pvc windows. Reasons are its faster, and at the end will cost less and last much longer.

Totally agree with the answer above, also a lot less maintainence and easily repaired as in the locks, hinges, glass and also they keep the heat in your house far better
