Only get hot water when tap is turned under half way on

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.47 PM

Hello guys and gals. I have an issue with my hot water supply. When I turn the hot water tap onto full I am only getting luke warm water. I need to find a sweet spot which is about a third of the way on in order to get water hot enough to have a bath in. This happens with all the taps in the house. The water pressure is good and strong when turned on full but just doesn't have the heat so I need to trickle it in which means a hot bath takes about 20 minutes to run. The shower never seems to get properly hot but that could be unrelated. The water is fed from a combi boiler and the radiators all work as they are supposed to. Cheers for any help you can provide.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like diverter valve problem and is not realising the hot water to the taps. If it's a 3 way valve the hot water is going to the radiators. I only say this as I had similar problem with my combi boiler and had new valve put in and was fine after.

Hallo It looks like there is to much pressure at the boiler cold water inlet. Is water run to fast, won't have time to get hot, but reducing the flow from the tap is increasing the temperature. Unless there are some problems with the boiler, I would check the pressure of the inlet, and eventually install a pressure reducing valve. Good luck Tiziano
