Can I install a shower tray straight on top of the adjustable legs ?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

Hi, I have recently installed a shower cubicle, but when my builder installed the shower tray he drilled a hole through the shower tray. This is causing leaking underneath and my wooden base is now soaking base. I need an expert's advice on the matter. My questions are: 1. Do I need to replace the shower tray or fix the hole with some silicone instead? 2. Can I install a shower tray straight on top of the adjustable legs without screws and a support base? 3. Do I really need a base as a support in order for me to install a shower tray? 4. Are there any other supporting base materials that are available instead of wood which can not be affected by water? Thanks in advance for your advice and expertise.

You can buy shower base legs and plinth for trays rather than timber.. also if your waste goes under floor boards to outside you could drop tray to floor so no need for legs.. I wouldn't be siliconing the hole in the tray you will have some issues later
