Timber wall plate - how to secure to brick wall

Hi, I need to create a timber wall plate using 6x2. What is the best method to secure this to brick wall? What fixings are the most secure and cost effective? And how to install them pls...

the best fixings to use fora wall plate is express nails you can get these from most builders merchants. drill a hole the same diameter as the express nail normally 8mm straight through the wall plate into the brickwork and all you do is hammer the nail through the pre drilled hole in the wall plate directly into the wall until flush with the outside of the wall plate. really strong fixing

If your fixing your wall plate to the wall, best to drill and use 220mil fishers, or u can buy special strews that open out as u screw them in, there strong!!, cost bout £5 for 4..But you have to use the drill properly, I.e knowing how deep to drill as well as the right drill bit..You must remember it's all about getting a really tight fitting!!Hope this helps!!

I’d just use anchor bolts at every 1.5/2M & wall plate straps with twisty screws
