Lukewarm water in shower - no hot water in tap unless shower is running
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.07 PM
HI there, I have a combo boiler. Recently our water was turned off for a few days and when we turned it back on we noticed the water pressure to our bathroom tap was low. A week or so later the hot water in our shower stopped working properly and the hot side of the bathroom tap (mixer tap) does not give any hot water - unless the shower is running. The boiler will fire for the shower, but not the hot tap by itself - but still no hot water from the shower - only lukewarm. Our shower is a thermostatic bar type. Any ideas?? Thanks!

check all your filters, you will have 2 on your bar shower, you may have one on main supply to your boiler,if all this started after mains shut down it is muck flushed in when water turned on.

Best advice would be to contact your local heating engineer (Gas Safe) to investigate the fault, there may be a link when your mains water was turned off or just simply coincidence.

When the water was turned off , was it in the road with a key ? If cold pressure is low , perhaps the valve in the road needs opening more ?
