Power shower makes the lights flicker when turn on or off

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.26 PM

I'm interested to know why when someone turns the shower on the lights that are turned on at the same time the house they flicker and same when someone turns it off too. The shower 8.5kw which I changed over myself last year it was the same kw as the last one which packed in after 10 years and the pull switch is a 45a same as the last one. I recall it's always done this since a election instill the original shower around ten year ago. The house has original wiring fuse box from when the it was built around midd 70s. Ive notice that the fuse inside is 32a. I'm thinking the fuse in the consumer unit is wrong and should be more amp. I wanting advice has two day ago I needed to change the 45a pull switch because the shower add no power. Can anyone advise please.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You have loose connections somewhere. Dare I say it might be in the pull switch for the shower? Or the shower circuit itself or something else. I really recommend getting an electrician in to give it a good going over.
