Kingspan between bottom of floor joists
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
I have installed kingspan at the bottom between floor joists in 400 widths strips held up with plywood strips attached to bottom of joists. I was wondering about condensation problems, I worked out my temp drop is 1.5 degrees c and condensation starts at 3.5 but reading kingspan will stop ventilation and wondering should I install 70mm vents in kingspan to help with ventilation between the floor joists.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

As you are probably aware condensation occurs when moist air comes in contact with cold air and forms drops of water which in a home may lead to mold problems and dank smells, From what I've read of your question the ply is touching the foil of the king span I would if possible leave a gap for air flow of a minimum off 25mm to address your concerns as a precaution, but if this is not possible I would only be concerned if the room above or below is subject to high humidity levels.
