Ideal Mexico 2 boiler since 1990, new boiler before move in?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

Hello, It seems the boiler was installed when the house was built in 1990, so it's almost 30 years old! It's still working but my understanding is that it is even not possible to get it insured because it's just simply too old. Would I be better off install a new boiler before I move in? Considering the whole system 's age, should I also have the heating and hot water pipes replaced or a power flush would do? If replacing the pipes, does it include tear apart the floor and ceilings etc? Please advise the scope of work involved if going for the full system replacement - I plan to change the flooring and repair some ceilings too, so would prefer to sort out the pipes if it potentially require replacement in the near future. Many thanks.

Why would you want to waste your money on Boiler Insurance? These type of boiler were build to last. Not like the Rubbish that is Built today. Keep it, you will still be able to get parts for your Boiler.
