Ideal combi 28 boiler giving lukewarm shower/tap water

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.26 PM

Hi, Recently my ideal combi28 boiler is giving out lukewarm water at best if I have the shower at full temperature and power. If I reduce the power of the shower it will get hot. Same scenario with the taps, on full power lukewarm, less power will get hot. This is a new problem in the last week, we have always had hot water at full power with no problem. The pressure on the boiler is at 1.2 bar. Any idea on what I can do to try and identify the issue here? Many thanks, Rich

You would need to call a gas engineer as you can not play with the boiler

As mentioned above you will need to contact a gas engineer,The issue sound like your DHW plate heatexchanger is partially blocked and not transferring the the heat quick enough as the mains water passes through the boiler, So when you slow down the flow it allows more time to heat, This would need a site visit to run some more diagnostic tests? I hope this helped Thanks Rich
