2 cookers and induction hob wiring

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.26 PM

Hi I am after fitting 2 cookers and an induction hob in my home and I wondered would it be ok to wire the 2 cookers and the induction hob on the same cooker ring main ? I know I can wire the 2 cookers on the 30amp supply with sepereate isolation switches but not sure if the induction hob would need its own feed back to the fuse board? Or can be wired with the cookers?? Many thanks for your help in advanced Sorry would help if I put the loads per item and yes I meant the main cooker feed not ring main Here's the specs 3.65kw 16 amps per Samsung duel cool cooker Electrical connection for induction hob 6.6kw 32amps Thanks in advanced

I doubt if a cooker circuit is a ring circuit. Your question is very vague as no kw rating for hob or cookers I would suggest an electrician to attend to assess as it would be foolish of anyone to give you any technical advice remotely. Your edit. Thanks for kw ratings you need an electrician to have a look, assess, apply diversity, check cable size(s) protective devices in consumer unit, test, RCD test if fitted, get working and hopefully get a certificate off him/her. Good luck.

If your not using the cookers and hobs together it would be possible to connect them on the same circuit. But its likely you will be needed all of them at some time. So you will need to run another 30A supply to the hob, all the circuits must have RCD protection. It is notifiable work so it would be best to get registered electrician, who will be able to advise you correctly.

Hi, The answer to the question depends clearly on the capacity of the circuit and the load of the appliances. what I recommend as best way to get it done is: 1st step: check the individual load of each appliance (ovens and hob) 2nd: an electrician to Design and install suitable wiring, isolator switch and outlet. Thank you for your update, I still think you need a qualified electricia to attend, design and install the suitable wiring for the loads you just mentioned. I believe you need : -2x 20a redial cirquits with appropriatewiring isolators and outlets for your ovens. -1x 32a redial cirquit with appropriatewiring, isolator and outlet for you hob. If there is no RCD protection in place on your Fused board, then new circuits must be supplied with at least one. Please make sure your earth bonding (gas and water if applicable) are in place too and the works to be certified by the person carry out the works. Regards, MK ELECTRICAL CLAPHAM.
