Kitchen Fitting

Courtesies: kitchen and bathroom fitters in at once?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.46 PM

Hi, We are in the situation where we have now paid deposits on both a kitchen refit (approx 3 weeks to do) and 2*new bathrooms including small amount of building work (approx 2 weeks to do). I really want to be present at home when the work is carried out, but I have just had the news that my job is changing and I am not going to be able to work from home with ease for much longer. In fact at this point the only feasible option feels like getting both sets of fitters in at once (at best a couple of days overlap). Is this something that happens reasonably often/ is it okay or a complete no-no? It feels rude to me, but then how on earth do people manage to stage work when you just don't know if the first job will over-run etc? Any thoughts appreciated- I would not have paid for both had I foreseen this situation!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I've worked on many projects where I've sub contracted work out to other traders in order to complete a job to the best quality and at the earliest convenience. Everyone helps each other where possible and sometimes its good to have other trades available just in case something goes wrong and the carpenter puts a nail through a pipe or cable (which is very rare). Hope this helps with your decision. Good luck with your projects. David Evans Director Evans & Son Property Services

I agree with the previous post, We have worked in houses where other companies are doing work, other trades or other rooms. We all try to keep out of each others way or help in any way we can. Go ahead and do it, it certainly is not a no - no. It happens quite often.
