double oven cooker and induction hob power supply
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
As my old electric freestanding double oven cooker has given up I want to replace it with a built in job and induction hob. (with seperate control switches) At present my old oven is supplied by 6mm. t&e approx 10 -12 meters from a recently installed consumer unit. Protected by a B32 amp cb. Do you think the excisting 6mm cable is adequate?, which is ran thru the roof void. Cooker rateing is 5.7 kw and the hob is 4.6kw if I remember correctly
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

DEACON ELECTRICAL SERVICES
Rating: 5 out of 5
No idea as you haven't supplied the kw rating, after having it via an RCD the kw rating and size of cable, in this case 6mm all these things have to be taken into account to make a determination. The length of cable is irrelevant. All this preferably to an electrician on a visit.
Your Edit. High kw rating then if that is correct. As I can't actually see the job and relying on your info ( which maybe right or wrong) I strongly recommend an electrician to actually visit assess it apply diversity and test the circuit and connect it. To give you any technical stuff would be quite reckless on my part. I am guessing.
