Shower tray not draining when standing in shower.

My shower tray does not drain when showering, however as soon as I step out of the shower, it drains immediately, any idea what the problem could be? I feel that if it was a blocked drain, it would not drain even after exiting the shower.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Could be the waste pipe not got enough fall, Trap size too small for shower head outlet.

Sounds like this is a problem with the waste not have the right amount off fall on the waste pipe. Depending on the size off the tray and the shower valve that’s installed will also determine the size off the waste pipe needed. It’s normally 42mm waste that leaves the tray but if it is a bigger head with more litres per minute coming from the shower then the recommend size would be 50mm or as close to the shower waste as possible.
