Insulating livingroom floor above double garage

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.26 PM

Hi, My livingroom floor is laminate and is very cold. I can't insulate the garage roof, as I only own one of the garages, other owned by a housing association. What options would I have for insulating the floor? Would a good underlay and well fitted carpet be enough? Thanks in advanced for any advice provided. Kind regards Claire

Hi First I don't think the best underlay with carpet will be enough to have a warm floor mentioned is above garage. In this situation you can do a floor insulation. Remove the floor boards (if is with joist the floor ) Buy Celotex Echotherm Kingspan insulation board 2400x1200 sheet 75mm thick. Cut it on fixed sizes and insert it between the joists and where at the walls can use some fire foam to close all gaps.put floor board back then underlay cloud9 then carpet. So you do all from your flat or home. I wish all the best! Kind regards T Marius
