Can double glazed windows be fitted to a single brick porch

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.26 PM

Hello, So after haggling with a rather large company over price and agreeing what required doing i then decided to get my windows fitted with them including inset porch. A week later their surveyor came round and did a further measure up and no problems were identified. Then today and yes i know it is Fri 13th i received a phone call stating that the surveyor had told them he couldn't do the porch. When i asked why the guy on the other end of the phone said because it was single brick and they don't do single glazing. As i was at work and needed to get back to work i told them that i would be cancelling the order as it would look completely daft as the windows currently in the whole house are timber framed and double glazed including the porch. To which he didn't reply, he hesitated giving me the first answer. Here is the thing my neighbor has upvc windows in his porch which is exactly the same so really confused and slightly miffed bear in mind they should have been installed by feb 3rd and i live and work over 200 miles away currently and to be honest was the reason i went with this company. Can it be done? Cheers Nikki

There is no reason double glazing could not be fitted in a single skin wall.
