Bled Rads, Re-Pressured System - Now Radiators Don't Heat, But Hot Water OK ?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.46 PM

Our boiler is a Baxi 105 HE. I can't afford to pay a plumber at all this month and with freezing temps and snow forecast I'm really hoping I can sort this out myself. So a few days ago we noticed our towel rack radiator upstairs was heating at the bottom but stone-cold at the top. So I bled it of air until water was flowing out nicely. After that the system pressure was on almost 0 bars, so I opened the cold flow to re-pressurise the system. Now the hot water is working fine, and the heating appears to be working if you look at and listen to the boiler, however no radiators are heating up all. A couple of extra things: * I followed a YouTube video to check the pump was turning properly and it definitely is. * I accidentally allowed too much water into the system, which was then brought down by a combination of water leaking out of the pressure release valve, and me bleeding radiators. I am guessing it was the pressure release valve, but there was water pooling on the kitchen surface under the boiler. There's been no unexplained loss of pressure since so I presume it isn't actually a leak of some sort. Can anyone help? Thanks you :-)

You have Caused this problem by bleeding the Rad that was full of air. Your Expansion Vessel now needs pumping up with Air You can use a foot pump to do this. Drain the Boiler down first them start Pumping! Needs to be 20 PSI of air Easy job to do. Try You Tube.
