Replace electric shower to thermostatic

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.25 PM

My electric shower is currently not working and I am between getting it fixed or just biting the bullet and replacing it with a thermostatic shower running off my combi boiler. The thing holding me back is cost and whether this would be do-able. My water pressure is excellent so there shouldnt be any problem in that respect. I would most likely replace the bath keeping it in the same place and move the taps at the same time if I was replacing the shower. Is this something that would be easily done? and what would the cost likely be?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Get a plumber to come take a look. The bath might be slightly built into the wall - not uncommon. Tiles will need to be removed and pipes chased into the wall for a mixer shower, unless the wall its going on is a stud wall and has access behind. This will still need possible floorboards up and patching of any wall. Worth it in the long run in my opinion as i really dont rate electric showers personally.
