BTU's of towel rail

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.46 PM

Hi. How do we find out the btu's of a towel rail that was in place when we moved in. We have worked out the btu's that we need for the room. It's a very large bathroom and we don't want to spend money on a new form of heating if the one that's in is roughly going to be the same size as a new one. Cheers Deb

You don't need to know what size towel radiator was formerly there as it may of been wrongly sized. You claim you have already worked out the Kilowatt (BTU) rating required for that room so just buy one that meets the heat output figure you have arrived at! But remember with towel radiators, there primary purpose it warm/dry towels so when they are loaded out with towels this will reduce the heat output, so over size it accordingly. After all you spend most of the time in a bathroom in your birthday suit so you want to be warm.
