Exterior door hanging into a concrete and brick outer

So I am doing a bit of DIY the door that is now my back door there is a bit of wood inbetween the brickwork and door lining/framecould i use any bit of wood or does it have to be a certain/treated kind? (the concrete part is a layer on the wood)
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there,
The pieces of would between your brickwork and door frame sound like packers. You can use pretty much any bit of wood for this application really but it would be more durable to use a treated wood. Even if it is a case of treating the wood yourself as you pack the frame.
