Blown fuse half of the lightning gone?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.25 PM
Hello, today I was changing one of the ceiling lights (not doing this the first time), it was a simple swop between the old and the new one as the wiring was the same. After I have put up the new one and turned the mains on I heard a "pop" sound and the light wouldn't come on. I went back to fuse box and noticed that one of the lightning fuses has blown, I turned it back on and noticed that only half of the lightning has gone back up (that particular fuse is connected to two lights upstairs and two lights downstairs). Two lights upstairs from that particular fuse working perfectly fine, while two downstairs not working at all (including the one I changed). So I went to Screwfix, picked up to new fuses and changed both fuses marked as lightning thinking that something has gone wrong there, but its still the same. I'm out of ideas now. Any help would be highly appreciated!
