Buying a flat with storage heaters and water tank and boiler

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

I'm buying a flat which currently has electric storage heating with a water tank and a big old boiler. There is no gas supply to the property. 2 bed 1 bath 50sqm. I want to replace everything as I want normal looking modern radiators and heating I can control (water and heat). I have money to spend to get the right system in. I'm at a loss after reading a lot about oil combi boilers (is that even an option given I have nowhere to store the oil externally? - please forgive my naivety!) what's my best option? Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there. The best option here would be to install an electric boiler with an unvented cylinder supplying your hot water. The electric boiler works in exactly the same way that a normal gas operated boiler does. This means you can have a wet heating system installed in the flat. Also, an unvented cylinder will give you mains pressure (hot & cold) throughout the flat. Hope this helps. Thanks
