Windows & Door fitting

should my aluminum windows and doors be sealed on the indide

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.33 PM

I have just had bifold doors and two aluminum windows installed. There is no seal around these on the inside. This seems strange to me that they could be left like this. Any advice welcome

Hi, if there is a gap between the window and wall , than needs to be seal, the easy way is mastic to be run around the window all a round.this was suppose to be done immediately after the windows installation , and if in time gets loose or pealing off, removed an applied again. the gap meaning from 1 mm or less to 10 -20 mm, should not be bigger than that, also the external needs to be sealed.
