mysterious water stains on coving

Hi, is it possible that leaving a tap half on for three hours or so could cause the leaking of water into the coving underneath the bathroom? Sorry if this sounds weird, but its the only 'different 'thing I can think of that happened. I called a plumber who couldn't find anything wrong with the bathroom plumbing or the adjacent heating. Leak hasn't happened since.

Hi it is possible, but some of the sinks has not overflow system , than is big possibility of leaking from the open tap. Have a look on the floor if the grout beetwen tiles is wet or was a wet You ll b see it .
