fibre glass roof not finished

is fibre glass fitted to a roof water proof in itself without top coat? my chap seems to say it is but I'm not convinced... he was putting top coat on today now its rained so cant but hes saying that the rain wont penetrate this fibre glass anyway??had a terrible time with this roof so very nervous ... not pouring rain but enough...many thanks

If your roof if fibreglassed (chopped strand mat consolidated with resin) should withstand ingress. However as good roofing practice if the topcoat is not applied the same day we would normally sheet the roof over for a piece of mind.
If your roofer does not topcoat within 24 hrs then it will require a light sanding (ensuring it is fully dry) and wiping down with acetone. The acetone will remove any further moisture plus waken the resin for application of the final layer.
He also needs to be applying with temperatures ideally above 5 degrees and before midday at this time of year (unless using additional accelerators - non standard).
