Fitting victorian/georgian style wood panelling in bathroom - painting??
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.45 PM
I want to put in old style wood panelling in the bathroom approx 1m high, the type which has large squares, I have done a bit of research, I am planning on placing batons along the walls and then onto this I think i need to use moisture resistant mdf and then will use moulding to create a panel effect, my question is, do I need to paint the surface which will be facing the wall (that wont be on show) - as it is a bathroom in an old victorian property. Also, what type of paint should I use for this if I do and also for the rest of the panelling? Thanks

If your using green mdf wich is moisture resistant you don't need to paint it.but remember it's only resistant to light moisture if your talking any more it will still blow regardless.

A primer on the MDF will work, but anything less will cause the MDF to soak it up like a sponge
