Restoration & Refurbishment

Why is no one interested in my job?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

I have requested quotes to refurb a bedroom including stripping out (wall paper and fitted wardrobes), re-plastering (walls and ceiling), burying cables as required in walls etc for new fitments (TV on wall, hollywood style mirror etc), electrical work to accomodate these items, re-painting, laying new flooring (not yet chosen so may be carpet or laminate or other) etc but have not yet had one quote, is the job too small?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I agree with DC Maguire. Set out the job more specifically expalin more what is required give a timescale on when you would like to start, there are trademans out there like myself who can accommodate all trades and can project manage the job, but b4 christmas is a tough order and then you might find u will pay over the odds. A rushed job is not a good job, it becomes a problem job down the line.

Think you might be better off employing the various trades as individuals rather than a job lot

Hi Cheshire-set Try breaking your room into trade specific i.e. Plastering decorating and carpentry and see how you get on that way. If Cheshire is as busy for the decent tradesmen is around the Bournemouth area then you've probably left it too late to get it done for your family visiting for Christmas as everyone here seams to think we can drop everything to do there jobs. good luck
