How to remove artex
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.25 PM
What is a safe and easy way to remove artex on walls? I don't think it has asbestos in as it is about 15 years old
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The easiest way is to get it skimmed over. Sometimes the artex can be steamed off with a wall paper stripper, but as this is on the walls its unlikely to be artex and more likely to be a plaster with a textured finish.

First thing to do is not to assume anything..Have the ceiling tested with a local company the testing only costs between £20-£40.00 and you will have a result within 48 hours usually.
If the ceiling is asbestos free then you can continue safely with removing the Artex; scraping or steaming off...but sheet the room thoroughly as it will be messy
