How to go about opening up a boarded up fireplace while getting salt damp sorted
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.25 PM
I'm just getting quotes for damp coursing a disused, blocked off fireplace. While I get this work done I want to open up the blocked off fireplace, I don't want it to be a functioning chimney I just want a decorative area (maybe put an electric free standing fire in there) So my question is, what kind of tradesman should I contact and at what point should they come in to knock it through? Before or after the plaster is stripped back for the damp course? Thanks in advance
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
Talk to the people under taking the Damp coursing they should be capable of under taking the work for you. Get all the mess over and dun with in one go.
