Do i need building control drawings aswell as planning drawings?

Hi there The building regulations drawings are really to just get through the planning stage. Depending on how detailed they are, whoever is going to do the build will need a construction pack of drawings to work off. It all depends how detailed the planning drawings are.

personally would take my drawings to the building inspector for your area and see see what he says, unfortunately as much as the government makes it easier for you to build an extension / garage without the need for planning applications , certain building control inspectors interpret the regulations differently, some are sensible while other think it their chance to wear a uniform and jackboots, I have found majority of inspectors to be sensible , but have come across the odd one who has no common sense and completely power mad to the point of being dictatorial. even in the same office their can be a wide difference of interpretation of the rules between inspectors good luck Alex
