Ceiling to plaster
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.06 PM
I have a new plasterboard ceiling to plasterer and walls in a new build, upstairs bedroom, but with the ceiling I have noticed the plasterboard has blown because of the metal brackets from the roof fixings in a couple of places ... do I Stanley knife the blown plasterboard out, pva the hole, bond, scrim, then plaster, or can I go over the blown area while I'm doing the whole ceiling and won't blow when the new plaster has gone off and ready to paint...cheers Stuart

You most certainly have to cut out the blown plaster board, make good the holes and then skim

Just make sure to cut the areas out and cover with scrim joint tape, before plastering the ceiling refill them and give it five minutes to take up before plastering the ceiling as normal.
