Roller marks and patches on newly plastered walls and ceilings

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

My property has Ben completely skimmed and I followed advice on mist coating, however when we put the second top coat on there were very noticeable roller marks left. I also used a different plasterer to skim two ceilings later and had no problems with painting at all. i recently had to touch up the paint around the windows as we had new double glazing installed and it has left terrible brush marks and it seems the paint will not flow as it should.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Try sanding down the roller marks, touch them up especially where it goes down to bare plaster then repaint the ceiling using a medium pile roller sleeve. Complete the work in one (I mean don't do half then go for a brew then come back to finish it) Use equal pressure on the roller when applying the paint, it sounds like this might not have been done on when mist coating. Hope this helps in some way. VinnythePainter.
