What form of insulation is better on radiator pipes under floor ?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM

We are drilling channels in the concrete floor in order to hide all the copper pipes running into radiators. It was suggested that we put insulation on the copper pipes. One plumber suggested that it's good to have foam insulation (armacell pipe insulation in selco for example) citing durability in long run and another suggested to simply use pipe felt citing that cracks could be formed when cement is filled in. Please recommend what is best insulation for hot water pipes in concrete floor ?

First wrap pipe in Denso tape, then insulate with Armaflex pipe insulation. No further action required.
