Leaking Hot Water Tank in my airing cupboard

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.42 PM

Hi there- I have a leaking Hot Water Tank in my airing cupboard it is a Telford Anode 1200 x 450 INDIRECT. It was installed as part of a new Barratt Home 13 years ago. - Is it normal to have a hot water tank leak after 13 years? The leak is a slow drip but fills a pan over night. It seems to be coming from near the immersion heater control box on the from of the tank. Is this a costly repair / replace. Please advise - Thank you!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I could be 2 things either leaking from where the immersion is inserted or the seam around it chances are either way it will need to be replaced going by age of cylinder and fact its leaking if it where the immersion connection leaking theres a real risk the seam will split when undoing to repair.
