Which regular gas boiler to replace the existing Potterton 60l?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM

We live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 15 radiators detached house. We have been quoted 3 different boilers to replace our exsisting Potterton 60L (14 years old). Which is the best in terms to reliability, breakdown etc. The boilers quoted are - Vaillant ecoTEC open vent 424, Worcester Greenstar 18ri erp or Ideal Logic+ heat (24kw). We want a regular gas boiler. Thank you.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Stick with your Potterton Suprima 60L . Why are you changing it? they are a great boiler once you have had the New upgrade PCB should last for 20 years. Keep it!

Out of the three choices I would be inclined to go for the Worcester Greenstar 18ri erp Don't be guided by ill-informed but well meaning public comments/opinions. You have asked the trade what they prefer, and know you have my professional opinion but other engineers may have also they own recommendations!
