Replace double glazing panel/unit from the inside?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM
Hi, We are in a maisonette (too high for ladder etc) where in the upstairs bedroom there is a cracked window pane in the double glazed window. The windows were installed at least 20 years ago so quite old - but was curious if it is possible to replace the panel from the inside or what to look at to determine if it was possible?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi it all depends on the size of the pain but any good double glazing firm and some roofers like myself would do it from a ladder with no problem.hope this helps

You can replace the glass very easy
But you could check if the beading that holds the glass in is internally beaded or externally as this can determine how easy or hard the job may be
Also now there are regulations that are in place like does it need to be safety glass
